Plexigrid is a tech company founded within the research group of the University of Oviedo with a clear desire to innovate the electrical sector.
The massive penetration of electrical vehicles, solar panels, storage, and heat pumps is increasing the challenges that the electrical distribution networks have to handle. Funny enough, the creators of the challenges are at the same time the key to the solution thanks to the flexibility that they can provide.
Among its solutions, Plexigrid has developed:
- 1. a network management system able to i) visualize in real time the entire distribution network, ii) model the network based in the automatic generation of digital twins, understanding where the problems are and will be, and iii) act in the most appropriate way to avoid congestions or any other problem in real time.
- 2. an energy management system able to control all flexible assets allowing the owners of this flexibility to participate in different markets through aggregators, retailers or communities of energy.
We are convinced of electrification as the main enabler of a sustainable future, and in Plexigrid we want to contribute to accelerate the electrical system that will allow this electrification. Being part of this edition of Free Electrons allows us to collaborate with 9 of the most innovative utilities in the world shaping the energy of the future.
